Designed for professionals either new to agrochemical formulations or requiring a basic working knowledge in their role, this introductory 8 module course will provide you with the foundations to enhance your formulation career. You will examine essential topics such as:

• Green formulations: types and drivers for growth
• Regulation of formulated products: recent changes to regulations
• Development process: ingredients and generating regulatory data
• Biopesticides: differences to conventional PPPs
• Reformulations: advantages and disadvantages

What is an Online Academy course? 

Online academy is a new online, interactive and engaging education tool designed to maximise learning for professionals with busy schedules and/or small training budgets.

The online academy brings alike professionals together and gives you the opportunity to share ideas and questions via the discussion forum creating your own professional community. Our on-demand feature means the content is available as and when you need it allowing greater flexibility to your professional development and learning.

  • Revisit the content with unlimited access to all the materials for 2 months

Dr Jim Bullock has 25 years of experience in the chemical-using industries, with a main focus on formulation science and technology. Within major chemicals multinationals, he has led R&D activities in areas as diverse as imaging, crystal engineering, formulation and synthetic chemistry.
Dr David Calvert has close to 25 years of experience in developing new products and services for the chemical-using industries including pharmaceuticals, inks,coatings, agrochemicals and FMCG.

  • Understand how to develop a formulation and provide the supporting data needed for submissions
  • Evaluate the impact of changed EU regulations
  • Get to grips with “newer” formulation types
  • Assess the driving force behind greener formulations, explore the different forms of biopesticides and assess their challenges to the formulator
  • Get an overview of analytical and test methods used to support the stated claims of the formulation
  • Study key considerations for scale up & manufacturing
  • Investigate the various application types and their impact on formulation choice
